Born in Cremona, Italy (1982). Lives and works between Cremona and Berlin.

His production moves back and forth between sound and visual art. Videos, environments and installations investigate functions and dysfunctions of technology through analogue mechanisms: objective error and semantic short-circuit celebrate a repetition guided by free will.

His works were show in international venues for contemporary art, and private galleries as Davide Gallo – Berlin and Raffaella Cortese – Milano.

Recently his 24 hours video projection Die Zeitmaschine has been enbody in the Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea MAMbo of Bologna pemanent collection.

On October 2008 the uk magazine The Wire is out with a special project on cd call Phonorama, a collective sound performance directed by Benassi in collaboration with Valerio Tricoli for Xing.

He is an author of videos, installations, performances, as well as live media with OLYVETTY, an audio/video environmental project started since 2006 with the musician Claudio Rocchetti. OLYVETTY performed in international festivals as, among others, Sonambiente (Berlin 2006), From the concrete music to the object sound (Venezia 2007), Flora (Firenze 2007), Netmage (Bologna 2008), Piombino Experimenta (Piombino 2008).
