Superficie in ceramica by Carla Accardi, an installation curated and promoted by RAM radioartemobile in collaboration with Fondazione Musica per Roma, will be on display in the AuditoriumArte exhibition space at the Parco della Musica, Rome, from 21 November 2008 to 7 January 2009.
After being shown at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Carla Accardi’s work arrives in Rome. The installation will be featured in the ongoing exhibition devoted to masters of Italian 20th-century art that Fondazione Musica per Roma has been staging for some time, which has already showcased the work of Matta, Burri and Novelli, and also Consagra and Perilli, two of Accardi’s travelling companions on her artistic journey.
The installation consists in painted gres tile paving, a ceramic surface made up of green squares with cobalt blue signs alternated with white squares, and completely covers the floor of the first room of the Auditorium Arte space. The sound elaboration by Gianna Nannini, composed to accompany the sound of the public’s footsteps on Accardi’s paving, was recorded by the singing artist in Moscow’s Red Square and has been retailored to fit the Rome show.
