Oreste Zero and Oreste One were presented at Paliano in the summers of 1997 and 1998. The title itself, manifestly without any specific references, underlines the desire not to focus on art in an institutional way. The spontaneous characteristic of our acts and the relationship between art and its “enjoyer” have been questioned in a radical fashion, cancelling any differentiation and inviting both the public at large and the artists involved to work together. The balance between artistic undertaking and its circulation is a forgone conclusion, and in the open organisation of these meetings there is a new kind of cohesion among the artists. The community thus defined is fostered from the lowest levels and in these low levels, in the day to day routine, these interventions, which generate a continuous matching rich in stimuli, are rooted.
