Togheter with Meret Oppenheim, Louise Bourgeois, Agnes Martin and many other artists, Carla Accardi has contributed to the creation of a language as personal as it is international. As she stated in 1996, "There have been radical changes and authentic traumas in my work. I could say that my aim has been to give birth to an oeuvre that undergoes transformation but can be perceived as a whole."
Constantly refenerated in complex and vital tension, her work has been carefully examined by Germano Celant and is presented here in tis entirety trough critical study of the period from 1946 to 1995, now including many previously unpublished works, expanded with the theoretical discussion and general catalogue of activity from 1996 to 2010.
