The Sound Object
In the context of Open Museum Open City at MAXXI-Rome Ram radioartemobile in collaboration with Paolo Coteni proposes:
a concentrate of 55 hours from the sound universe; space and time
articulated in five appointments full day of non-stop radio, intentionally not in chronological order.
The schedule of the five days follows a geographical criterion:
-first appointment: Mediterranean Basin – October 25th 2014/ reply October 26th
-second appointment: East Europe – November 1st 2014/ reply November 2nd
-third appointment: Canada, United States and South America – November 8th 2014/ reply November 9th
-fourth appointment: West and North Europe – November 15th 2014/ reply November 16th
-fifth appointment: Asia and Australia – November 22nd 2014/ reply November 23th
L’Oggetto Suono (The Sound Object) takes advantage of a vast international network of project
partners concerned with sound research: Radio Cona Ljubljana and Radio Picnic Berlin, Georg Weckwerth/TONSPUR Vienna, Performance Festival of Louvain, De Appel Foundation Amsterdam, Seowon University Seoul , Fine Arts Academies of Naples and Frosinone, etc.
The schedule is articulated by drawing from the following archive sources:
The RAM radioartemobile archives (Radio archive, Sound Art Museum archive), Paolo Coteni’s Silenzio Archive , Riccardo Gaigni’s Collection of Etno Music, Zona Archive of Maurizio Nannucci, the Archive of the Giacinto Scelsi Foundation, ICBSA Archive /The State Sound Archive of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

Operative epicentre of the project: the RAM sound station in the Foyer of MAXXI conceived by Malaysian artist H.H LIM.
