On the occasion of the closure of the major anthological show Jan Fabre. Stigmata. Actions & Performances 1976-2013, at MAXXI through to 16 February 2014, the museum will be celebrating the Flemish artist with a talk between the curator of the exhibition, Germano Celant, the artist Jan Fabre and the artistic director of the museum, Hou Hanru. The event represents an opportunity to discuss the most urgent issues of contemporaneity: how performance pieces survive over time, how memory sediments and how “the archive” becomes a source of continual inspiration.
